Loud, brash and cocky, Almost Famous Liverpool has swaggered into the city from the other side of the M62 corridor – with its peculiar recipe of blaring music, ‘meat slut’ iconography (dodgy, in our opinion) and delicious burgers. Frankly, if the food wasn’t this good, we’d swerve this over-baked conceit. But it is.
Meaty patties, served pink and juicy, come with lashings of toppings, such as fiery chilli, or melting cheddar, fried onions, chipotle relish and jalapenos. Chips come in plenty of ways too, but plump for the Chilli Cheese Fries: a whopping plateful of gooey, festive-looking stringy fries, with a riot of, well, cheese and chilli.
Delicious. And, yes, very, very messy.
