Bridewell Studios

Bridewell Studios is an artist-led space which, as the name implies, takes as its home an old police lock-up – it still looks the part and if you think you’ve seen it before you may have spotted it in Boys From The Blackstuff.

The Bridewell offering studios for over 30 artists and craftspeople working in painting, stone/wood sculpture, jewellery, stained glass, textiles, print-making, ceramics, metal and multi-media. Alumni range as varied as Adrian Henri, Anish Kapoor and David Gray.

The Bridewell has occasional open nights, film nights, events and exhibitions. Workshops too. It’s situated opposite The Royal Liverpool Hospital, in case you need a breather after walking up London Road and Prescot Street from the city centre.
